[TRANS] 110804 “Protect The Boss” JYJ Kim Jaejoong Makes His TV Drama Debut, Acting Passes With “Good Reviews”

JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong has appeared as the chaebol Cha Mu Won

In the first episode of SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Protect the Boss” aired on 3 August, Kim Jaejoong appeared as Cha Mu Won, rival and cousin of Cha Ji Hun.

Cha Mu Won, unlike Ji Hun who suffers from social anxiety, is an extremely capable man. In his very first appearance, he completes a presentation in the place of Cha Ji Hun who leaves halfway. He is very different from the unruly Cha Ji Hun, and is a persuasive and dependable character.

Cha Mu Won also plays the role of “daddy long legs ” (T/N: benefactor) to Noh Eun Seol. During the interview for the position of Cha Ji Hun’s secretary, Cha Mu Won picks Noh Eun Seol, whose speech left a lasting impression on him. When Noh Eun Seol asks him “Why did you pick me?”, Cha Mu Won replies, “Miss Noh Eun Seol, your boss Cha Ji Hun is not someone that a normal person can tolerate.”

Kim Jaejoong has successfully managed to execute the role of the level headed and sharp Cha Mu Won. Although like many other idol-actors, his flaws in pronunciation were pointed out, but he has still received comparatively good reviews.

After watching the broadcast, viewers posted comments on the relevant messageboards, saying “Kim Jaejoong’s acting is a lot more natural than I thought,” “Initially, when I heard he was acting against Ji Sung, I was worried, but they seem to mesh very well,” “I’m now looking forward to more of Kim Jaejoong’s acting” and other comments.

Also, in 2010 via Fuji TV’s “Sunao Ni Narenakute,” Kim Jaejoong had made an earlier drama debut in Japan.
